The first episode of Sir David Attenborough’s incredible-looking new natural history series (Dynasties) drops tonight at 8.30pm on BBC1. The first episode will follow the chimpanzee and, to whet the appetite, BBC Earth released a sneak-peek trailer today staring an alpha male named David!
If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the amazing trailer below…
I will be sharing this trailer with my class tomorrow (and probably the whole of the first episode in parts this week) and will take the opportunity to enjoy another reading comprehension lesson with my class. They really enjoyed our first lesson (you can download the resources for that here – https://fatherreading.wordpress.com/2018/11/06/bbc-dynasties-reading-comprehension/), spending nearly an hour enjoying lots of discussion with jaws agape! The resource has since been downloaded over 1000 times in the last few days!
I will show my pupils the trailer once in full and then we will watch again, working through the 10 questions attached below (as a Word document so you can adapt for your class should you wish) which should be fine for use across KS2 (varying support/independence obviously!).
Let me know in the comments below if you will be using the resource and feel free to share any ideas you have for bringing the latest incredible effort from Sir David and the BBC into the classroom!
